The summer is a great time to be outdoors having fun with family and friends, so don't let bug bites and other summer time woes get you down. Here are 7 simple tips to survive the summer!
- Oolong tea is great for itchy skin from bug bites and allergies. Oolong tea is a traditional Chinese tea that falls between black and green tea. Japanese studies have found that oolong tea could even help control excema.
- Rub peppermint oil, Tiger Balm or white flower into your temples to help alleviate pain from migraine headaches. Too much fun in the sun can trigger migraines or tension headaches. These remedies all contain menthol, which has analgesic properties.
- Sniff Rosemary. Going out after a day at the beach? To keep yourself alert during the midday slump, sniffing rosemary can keep you alert as studies suggest.
- Make sure your diet consists of a lot of fatty fish during the summer. If your eyes are dry and red from the sun and water, Salmon, sardines and mackerel contain Omega-3 fatty acids which help the body produce tears. Research shows that people who consume fatty fish are less likely to suffer from dry eyes.

- Stay hydrated. Most of us are generally more active in the summer and the heat along with sweating makes us lose more fluids than normal.
